The City has finally received a contract from CSX this week. The contract is now in the hands of the City Attorney and the City Administrator. As we all know this will not be an easy process dealing with CSX. However, the City is being resilient in their position to secure the station. Contrary to the article in the Okeechobee News, we are making progress, slowly, but we are making progress. |

Additionally, we have received a draft contract from Amtrak. Main Street has been working with the representatives of Amtrak in a position of change agent for the City during the initial stages of contract negotiations. It is expected the contract with Amtrak will not be difficult to reach agreement upon. |

| Thanks to Elbert Batton for securing a commercial architect who is interested in assisting with the renovation of the train depot. Mrs. Niki Norton-Gozdz of Crossroads Architecture Inc. from Stuart, Florida has agreed to assist in the planning and development of the train depot. Thank You Niki for your assistance!!!! | ||
