Okeechobee Main Street’s next monthly mixer will be held on Tuesday,
February 16th from 5 – 7pm. February’s mixer will be hosted by Sims
& Younger C.P.A. located at 203 SE 2nd Avenue. Main
Street Mixers are a great networking opportunity for the businesses
and residents of our area. Whether you have a new or old business,
or you are a resident interested in giving back to our community,
you’re invited to come enjoy networking, refreshments, door prizes
and a brand new Mega 50-50. If you would like to donate a door

The Battle of Okeechobee Re-Enactment will be held at the Okeechobee
Battlefield Historic State Park on Saturday, Febuary 6th
and Sunday the 7th from 10am – 4pm. Join the Battlefield
Friends for the commemoration and re-enactment of he largest and
fiercesest Battle in the Seminole Wars that was fought on Chirstmas
Day 1837. There will be Seminole and other exhibitors, alligator
demonstrations, Artisians, and 1800’s Medicine Show, Cannons,
blacksmiths, storytelling, food and more. The Okeechobee
Battlefield Historic State Park is located at 3500 SE 38th
Avenue.
Chloe’s Closet is having a Superbowl Sale on Saturday February 6th.
There will be discounts and some items will be 5 for 5 dollars.

2010 Census Jobs are available! Work will begin in the spring and
will last 2 to 10 weeks. All work is in Okeechobee County and pays
$14.25 per hour plus .55 a mile. Testing for hires is being done now

Rotary Club of Okeechobee is collecting financial donations for the
victims of the Haiti earthquake. District 6930 of Rotary
International will be coordinating the efforts and monies
raised will go to where they need to be dispersed in priority order.

is near for entry to the 2010 Miss Okeechobee County Fair and new
"Little Miss" Okeechobee County Fair pageant. This is a wonderful
opportunity for two young girls to represent Okeechobee for the next

Applications are now available for the Okeechobee Main Street 2010
Top of the Lake Art and Music Fest, which will be held on February
27th & 28th in beautiful downtown Okeechobee. We are seeking fine
artist to participate in this two day event. There are three art
divisions: Booth Artist, Adult Gallery and Student Gallery.

The Okeechobee County Sheriffs Office will be joining law
enforcement officers from across the state to raise money and
awareness for Special Olympics. During the month of April they will
participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special
Olympics. You can help now by purchasing a Law Enforcement Torch
Run t-shirt for $12 or hat for $10 or get both for $20. Monetary
Donations can be made at the Sheriffs Office. Help the Okeechobee
County Sheriff’s Office raise money and awareness for Special
Olympics by purchasing a Law Enforcement Torch Run t-shirt and hat
or by making a donation. Shirts and hats can be purchased at the
Okeechobee County Sheriffs Office or at the Main Street Office. For

The Okeechobee Service Center of the American Red Cross will offer
Infant/Child CPR/AED Classes on Wednesday, February 3rd,
First Aid Basics on Thursday, February 11th and Adult
CPR/AED on Wednesday, February 17th. All classes begin
at 6pm and are held at the Service Center located at 323 N. Parrott

Cowboys will be hosting their 2nd Annual Super Bowl Party
on Saturday, February 7th. Tickets prices range from $40

Solutions in collaboration with Monstor Government Solutions is
holding three free workshops to provide job seekers with the advice
and resources they need to find a job and manage their career. In
Okeechobee Workshop at the Williamson Conference Center on February
11th, in Fort Pierce Workshop on the 16th at
the Kight Center on the Main IRSC Campus and the Stuart workshop
will be held on the 25th at the Wolf High-Technology

Seacoast National Bank invites you to the 8th Annual
Big Lake Bass Fishing Tournament to be held on Saturday, February 20th
at Pier II Resort located at 2200 Hwy 441 SE. Registration is $80
per boat, 2 person team and begins at 7am. This event will benefit
the March of Dimes.
You can help support building a YMCA in Okeechobee! There will be a
free family fun day to raise money for this effort on Saturday,
March 27th from 10am to 2pm in downtown Flagler Park.
There will be a bounce house, dunk tank, motorcycle, swamp buggy and
airboat show, pony rides, food, entertainment and much more. The
YMCA Steering Committee is in need of organizations to sponsor a

Board is sent out to our membership and area non-profit agencies
each Monday afternoon. All items submitted must be in by noon on
Monday and can be included up to 2 weeks prior to your event.
