Okeechobee Main Street’s 2009 Top of the Lake BBQ Affair was the largest
ever with a crowd of over 3,000 enjoying the best in BBQ, pony rides, an
assortment of vending selling their wares and some of the finest
desserts and treats. We had 42 cook teams competing for the top prize.
Winners were: Sauce; Uncle Kenny Butts For You, Apple Pie; Brushfire
BBQ, Anything Butt; J-Mack Cookers, Beer Can Chicken; Big Jim Lazy Q,
People’s Choice; Uncle Kenny Butts For You.
In the Amateur Contest: Grand Champion; Brushfire BBQ and Amateur
Reserve Champion: Kahuna-Que.
In the Pro Division: Chicken; Home BBQ.Com, Ribs; Squeals on Wheels,
Pork; Smokin’ Cracker BBQ Team and Brisket; Swamp Boys.
